Director Connie Weaver to Receive Spirit of the Land-Grant Mission Award
The WGHI Director Connie Weaver will receive Purdue University's 2012 Spirit of the Land-Grant Mission Award for improving nutrition recommendations for children, adolescents and adults nationwide through her research in calcium absorption and bone health. Read Full Story
Obesity and Cancer Pilot Grant Call for Proposal – Due: January 15, 2013
Proposals should be focusing on how obesity contributes to cancer risk and interdisciplinary in nature. The goal of this program is to build the foundation and stimulate interests for larger proposals to external funding agencies. Applications to this program are expected to have a maximum requested amount of $10,000 for one calendar year. Renewals for one year may be considered. The Purdue Women’s Global Health Institute (WGHI) requests proposals of outstanding scientific merit addressing women’s health issues focusing on wellness, neurodegenerative disorders, bone health, and women’s cancers. All funded project teams are expected to gather preliminary data to submit competitive applications to external funding agency, or to seek support from an outside organization (e.g. companies, foundations, etc.) for continuation of the research. Purdue breast cancer prevention symposium to draw researchers from 15 countries
